Thank you for wanting to find out more about our school.  We are very excited about what is happening here. Students and teachers are learning in new and exciting ways.  Would you and your children like to be part of what is happening?

Our aim is to provide outstanding education for all young people who come to our school.  Our teachers and support staff place the student at the centre of all they do, helping them to grow, not just academically but also emotionally and socially.  At Macclesfield High School, we go to great lengths to make sure that every student can give of his or her best, in order to achieve even more than they first thought was possible.  Every member of the team here is committed to helping our students to be happy and to achieve their very best, whatever their ability. 

One example of our new and exciting ways of learning is our Saturday morning Masterclasses in Art, English, Technology, Science and Maths for local primary school students.  These have been running since 1999.

We also have many plans for the future.  Here are some of them:

• Setting up a school radio and TV station
• Remote web-based access to all school information by parents, students, staff and governors
• Connected Learning Communities with our partner primary schools and across the world
• Building on our links with schools in France, Spain, Singapore and Uganda
• Developing leadership training and development programmes for students
• The full integration of students from Park Lane Special School
• Creating an outdoor sculpture garden

Our final reason for being excited is that we are now in our brand new 21st century school, built in 2007 as part of the landmark Macclesfield Learning Zone on the Park Lane campus.  This is an 11-19 fully comprehensive school, housed in modern, state-of-the-art facilities.  Immediately next door to our new school is our brand new Sixth Form College, which we share with students from Macclesfield College and from Park Lane Special School.
