Well Presented Students a Credit to Macclesfield High School!

Mrs Childs, Headteacher of Gawsworth Primary School, praised the skills of students from Macclesfield High School when she said: “I would like to express my appreciation and thanks for being able to attend the Multi-Skills Event at Macclesfield High School today.  It was excellent, well prepared and very well organised.  The students who supported the event from Macclesfield High School were superb.  They were well presented, courteous, helpful and they worked hard to make the event a success. They were a credit to the school.  Thank you for inviting us.  The children really enjoyed themselves”.

Macclesfield High School was delighted to host a Multi-Skills Festival for primary schools on Friday 4th December.  Pupils in Years 3 and 4 from Gawsworth, Hollinhey, Ivy Bank and Wincle Primary Schools participated in 9 challenging activities.  They experienced a wide range of competitive skills from balance and co-ordination to speed and dynamism.  At the end of 2 hours of intense activity, the pupils went back to their respective schools tired, happy and significantly more skilful.   All the competitors were presented with a certificate, and  Gawsworth boys and Hollinhey girls each received winners’ certificates.  Well done to all.

Thanks go to the organisational and coaching skills of Macclesfield High School’s Gold Sports Ambassador, Year 12 student Ben Smith.  He was ably assisted by 20 Year 8 girls.  Praise was heaped on them by the primary school teachers for the friendly, professional and skilful way they demonstrated the events, coached the children and recorded team scores.

Macclesfield High School’s Art department has been doubly honoured, as the Head of Art, Miss Forster, was invited by the Arts Advisor to teach on the course.  This is a real accolade as the course is highly regarded by both students and staff as a showcase for the excellent standard of Art teaching within the county.
