Students at Macclesfield High School were treated to a morning in the presence of the UK’s first female Thai Boxing World Champion, Rachael Mackenzie, on Friday 5th February as she paid a visit to support the school’s participation in the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme.

Year 7 students at Macclesfield High School were given the opportunity to gain an insight into how to become a successful author when Sophie McKenzie, award winning author of the best selling book, ‘Girl Missing’, visited the school on Friday 22nd January.

Macclesfield High School held a whole school non-uniform day on Friday 22nd January in order to raise funds for Haiti earthquake victims.  In addition, students from Park Lane Special School who are educated at MHS, held a sponsored swim to raise further funds for the Haiti earthquake appeal.

Six of our Year 9 students attended the above event during the Easter holiday and participated in a number of activities including teambuilding tasks, a technology competition, workshops and field trips focusing on mountains, rocks, rivers, sand dunes and seashores.

Macclesfield High School Has Top Student In The World!
World Maths Day is to be held on 4th March.  Due to all the different time zones, it runs for 48 hours from 11 am on 3rd March to 11 am on 5th March.  Total registrations for this day are now above the million mark, currently at 1,031,083.  This includes 28,501 schools from a total of 231 countries.
